Install Jianxia in Edge
For desktop Edge 116+. Follow these steps to install from the ZIP; no additional desktop software is needed.
Download and extract
Download the v1.0.1 ZIP and extract everything to a permanent folder. Keep that folder while using the extension.
Download ZIPOpen the extensions page
Enter the following address into Edge’s address bar. Browser-internal addresses cannot be opened directly by websites; copy and paste it.
edge://extensionsEnable Developer mode
Turn on Developer mode on the extensions management page. If your organization disables it, contact your administrator; do not bypass organization policies.
Load the unpacked extension
Click Load unpacked and select the folder directly containing manifest.json. If the manifest is missing, check whether you selected the parent folder or an extra nested folder.
Pin Jianxia and reload the page
Find Jianxia Download in the toolbar’s extension menu and pin it. Reload media tabs that were open before installation, then click Jianxia to open the sidebar.
Play media and make your first download
Open media you own or have permission to save and play it briefly. Refresh the sidebar, choose a resource and quality, and download. Files go to the browser’s configured Downloads location.
Updating and removing
Before updating, save your license key and finish or pause tasks. Extract the new version into the same permanent extension folder, reload the extension on the extensions page, and refresh media tabs. Avoid removing it first, which may lose local settings. Deactivate the old instance before changing installation methods.
To uninstall, deactivate your license in extension settings, then select Remove on the extensions page. Previously saved media files are not automatically deleted.
Troubleshooting
Why is no media detected?
Play the media for a few seconds, then open the sidebar and refresh the list. Reload tabs that were open before installation. Browser-internal pages and protected media are unsupported. A blob URL may require playback to trigger the actual media requests. If it still fails, contact support with the site and browser version.
How do I move to another computer or reinstall?
Deactivate in the old browser’s extension license settings, then activate in the new browser. Reinstalling the extension or deleting a browser profile may create a new instance identifier. Save your license key first. If the old device is unavailable, contact support with your order ID for verification.
